Do my table guests need tickets?

We do not have tickets for the event, instead, every person attending will need to be entered into our GiveSmart system in advance. At check in they will just provide their name and we will look them up. Your guests must be in the system no later than September 8th.

What is Light Up the Room?

Light Up the Room is a Powerful Moment of Giving
This year, Light Up the Room will take the form of a Paddle Raise, but with the same heartfelt energy and powerful visual impact. When you make a minimum of a $100 donation to support the life-saving mission of the American Cancer Society, you’ll receive a large foam glowstick as a symbol of your gift.
During this portion of the evening, the lights will go dark, and together we will light up the room. It is a powerful moment that shows the collective strength of a community united in the fight against cancer.

Make your gift in advance (September 6 – 18) and you’ll have the special opportunity to honor a loved one. “In Honor” and “In Memory” names will be displayed on screen during the glowstick moment and added to our Tunnel of Hope.
Or raise your paddle during the paddle raise at the event!

Let’s Light Up the Room!

Can I use cash for purchases on the night of the event?

We encourage every guest to put a card on file for the evening. Cash will be accepted at the bars and in the Star collection jars, however, most giving throughout the night will be cashless.

How can I bid on silent auction items at the event?

Silent Auction bidding is completely online. The silent auction will open on September 13th and run through the end of intermission the night of the event.

Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

Yes! If you give online, a tax receipt will be emailed to you. If you pay by check, one will be mailed to the address on the check.

How will my donation be used?

The American Cancer Society makes significant investments in cancer research, advocacy, and patient support. Our programs provide people facing cancer with information and education on prevention, early detection, as well as treatment options.
